My Candle Making Journey

Updated: Jan 10, 2021

It's hard to believe that 4 years ago today I made my first candles. So much has changed since then. My brand has changed, my partner has changed, and the name has changed. I have experimented and learned so much over these past 4 years.

I started out as a jewelry maker with my sister of the heart with Hand Made 4 U. I ran that business solo for a while when she moved. In 2016 I had the opportunity to have a brick and mortar store with my ex-husband and his mother until he became terminally ill. During the time in our store, I decided to branch out with candles.

These are the first ones I ever made.

First Candles

I thought coffee-scented candles in coffee bottles would be the coolest idea. Let's just say I leaped before I researched. I was soon in the kitchen melting these back down to put in proper candle jars. I didn't want to put anything out there that could harm my customers.

Using A Proper Jar

I went solo again in 2018 with JB Butterfly Designs then partnered up with Dee Dee again in 2019. When I went solo I started learning more about who my customer base was and decided to switch to mason jars because they fit my brand better. We have grown the fragrance selection as well. We have even developed some in-house fragrances that will be released this year.

Our Current 8 oz. Mason Jar Candles

As you can see I have learned to take better photos and I also hire my niece at Pride & Joy Photography to take some of my photos when I can. We love supporting other small businesses when the opportunity arises.

We are excited to announce that we are changing our name and branding in the coming weeks but will still offer the same great products. We hope to see you around this year and if you haven't tried one of our candles or melts, now is your chance. Today through Sunday, January 31, 2021, our coffee candles are on sale!
