We topped off our graduation weekend with a professional photo shoot. Aimee with Pride and Joy Photos did an awesome job. She did graduation photos, photos of the graduate and his girlfriend, and family photos.
It's not easy working in chaos, but she handled it like a champ! There were 9 of us there for various shoots. I'm sure it helped that we are family but she kept the photo shoot flowing without a hitch.
She expressed later while editing that it was very difficult to find any group shots without one of the boys showing the "ok" sign. They are constantly trying to "get" each other with this game. She probably didn't know that her dad and her uncle used to do this to each other. I told her not to stress it because it wouldn't be a proper family photo without the shenanigans.
Sadly, we're missing Amber for this photo shoot. I'm hoping to have another around Christmas when she's not working so much and can be a part of it.
I just love the shot she took of me and Billy. This man is the love of my life. It took me a while to find him, but I don't know what I would do without him.
I always wanted a girl but stopped trying after my fourth son was born. I knew with 4 boys there was a decent likelihood I would be blessed with a t least one girl in the grandchild department. I got a double bonus with two. These two are so precious to me and love to help me craft.
As some of you may know, I am big on the idea of co-parenting after divorce and strive for peace and even friendship with the father of my children. We work together and include each other for holidays and events such as this. I believe my children have benefited greatly from this. I made sure my ex-husband was included and had photos of him and his boys.
My oldest son Kenn, has blessed me with two beautiful granddaughters that I absolutely adore. Aimee had so much fun snapping photos and capturing the love between him and his girls.
Aimee does a fabulous job and she's not afraid to do what is necessary to get the shot. I snapped the following picture as she was trying to get the perfect shots of my son Richard. He is 6'6" and Aimee is shorter than me.
As you can see here though she got the shot she was after.
Aimee was especially captivated by my son Sean and his girlfriend Brionna. They're just so stinkin' cute together.
Now on to the "baby" of the bunch. Connor is my youngest and an inspiring vocalist. He has such a wonderful talent I can't wait to see what he does with it. Keep a watch on American Idol for this one! He'll be trying out after he graduates next year.
These two girls bring such joy to me. Aimee captured them perfectly in this photo. Miss Avery is sweet and quiet and miss Addie sweet and full of spunk.
If you are near Athens, Alabama (or don't mind taking a short road trip) and want some awesome memories captured Aimee is your gal. These photos are well worth the road trip we took. Look her up at Pride and Joy Photos.
A day or so after our photo shoot she got word that one of her photos was going to be published in the Creative Collective magazine. I am so excited for her! She deserves this recognition.
